Job description

Our client, a rapidly expanding medical device manufacturer, is seeking a Project Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team based in Co. Wicklow. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, contributing to exciting projects involving plastics and injection moulding technologies.

The successful candidate will support a range of new and existing manufacturing projects, working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist in the execution of technical projects from concept through to implementation, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support project deliverables.
Contribute to project documentation, including protocols, reports, and technical files.
Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) in line with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
Participate in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives on the manufacturing floor.
Assist with equipment setup, tooling coordination, and supplier communication.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with quality and documentation standards.

Job requirements

Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process, or Biomedical Engineering.
1–2 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or related industry preferred).
Exposure to project or process development in a technical setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Familiarity with injection moulding or plastics processing is an advantage.
Basic understanding of validation processes and quality systems is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with MS Project or Minitab is a plus.
