Job description

Our client, a rapidly expanding medical device manufacturer, is seeking a Project Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team based in Co. Wicklow. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, contributing to exciting projects involving plastics and injection moulding technologies.

The successful candidate will support a range of new and existing manufacturing projects, working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the execution of technical projects from concept through to implementation, under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support project deliverables.

  • Contribute to project documentation, including protocols, reports, and technical files.

  • Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) in line with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.

  • Participate in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives on the manufacturing floor.

  • Assist with equipment setup, tooling coordination, and supplier communication.

  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with quality and documentation standards.

Job requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process, or Biomedical Engineering.

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or related industry preferred).

  • Exposure to project or process development in a technical setting.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.

  • Familiarity with injection moulding or plastics processing is an advantage.

  • Basic understanding of validation processes and quality systems is desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with MS Project or Minitab is a plus.
