Our client, an innovative and fast-scaling company in the medical device sector, is seeking a reliable and experienced Materials Handler / General Operative to support key functions across manufacturing and supply chain operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a mission-driven company at a pivotal stage of growth — transitioning from development to full-scale commercial manufacturing. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and compliant flow of materials that support the production of life-changing technologies in the fight against cancer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receive, inspect, and label all incoming materials in line with GMP and SOP requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of goods received and ensure correct storage and traceability.

  • Kit and issue materials to production based on scheduled builds and work instructions.

  • Perform stock control activities including cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and rotation.

  • Identify and segregate non-conforming materials according to company procedures.

  • Prepare returns to supplier, scrap, or external rework — ensuring full traceability.

  • Support finished goods handling, packaging, and movement across production and dispatch.

  • Assist with the manufacture of sub-assemblies and product builds when required.

  • Ensure the warehouse and production areas are kept clean, safe, and well-organised.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support problem-solving efforts across departments.

  • Use basic IT tools and ERP/WMS systems (if applicable) to manage inventory and transactions.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in materials handling, kitting, or warehousing within a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharma, or similar).

  • Strong working knowledge of GMP, GDP, and Health & Safety standards.

  • Confident in reading work instructions, batch documentation, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Familiar with metrology tools such as callipers, micrometers, or vision systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and numerical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

  • Able to work independently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and cleanroom protocols is highly desirable.

Desirable (Nice to Have):

  • Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).

  • Previous work in a start-up or SME manufacturing environment.

  • Cleanroom or controlled environment experience.

Full training will be provided, and the successful candidate will have opportunities to grow and develop within the organisation.
