Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (occasional Saturday overtime)

Our client is a well-established precision fabrication company based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, serving Ireland's pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors. We are seeking an experienced Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in manufacturing and assembling sheet metal components to exacting standards. This role requires strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Fabricate, cut, weld, bend, and assemble sheet metal components to high precision standards.

  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements.

  • Plan, organise, and prioritise jobs to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and management to resolve production issues quickly and effectively.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop environment in safe and efficient working order.

  • Work to health, safety, and quality assurance standards at all times.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in fabrication and sheet metal work.

  • Strong skills in welding, cutting, forming, and assembling metals.

  • Proven ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications.

  • Experience working as part of a team to deliver jobs on time.

  • Proven ability to work to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and perform under pressure.

    Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with clients in the pharmaceutical sector.

  • Knowledge of stock control and logistics in a production/manufacturing setting.

  • Experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).

  • Ability to hand-sketch drawings.

  • Forklift licence or material handling experience.
