CNC Setter Operator – Milling & Turning (Rotational Shifts)

Shift Pattern: Rotational early/late weekday shifts (shift premium applies)

Our client, a well-established precision engineering company serving global Aerospace and MedTech OEMs, is seeking experienced CNC Setter Operators (Milling and Turning) to join their high-performance manufacturing team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines to manufacture high-precision components.

  • Select and configure cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and offsets per job specifications and drawings.

  • Conduct in-process quality inspections and measurements to ensure tolerances and finish requirements are met.

  • Achieve competitive cycle times and contribute to production output targets.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines and tooling to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to machine operations and part conformity.

  • Reorder tooling and materials as needed to support continuous production.

  • Work closely with engineering and quality teams to support process improvements and ensure best practices.

  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Job requirements

  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines (multi-axis preferred).

  • Experience machining aluminium, stainless steel, and brass, with ability to hold tight tolerances.

  • Previous exposure to precision manufacturing for the aerospace and/or medical device sectors is desirable.

  • Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controllers is an advantage.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, job packages, and inspection standards.

  • Basic understanding of preventive maintenance routines and tooling care.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a mechanical mindset.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing environment.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Basic computer literacy for accessing job specs and recording data.

  • Strong team player with a proactive and reliable work ethic.

  • Willingness to work rotational shifts and support occasional overtime.
