Business Development Manager | Laboratory Services | Nationwide (Ireland)

A leading provider of laboratory services to the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and environmental sectors is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing commercial team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused professional to drive new business growth, develop strategic client partnerships, and maximize cross-selling opportunities across multiple divisions. The role offers autonomy, national travel, and the chance to make a real impact in a high-growth company.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through networking, research, and strategic outreach.

  • Prepare and deliver proposals, tenders, and contract renewals, ensuring competitive and commercially sound agreements.

  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with company goals and profitability targets.

  • Manage and grow client relationships, acting as the primary commercial contact.

  • Conduct regular client meetings to review account performance and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful service delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform commercial strategies.

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to expand market presence.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)

  • 5+ years’ experience in business development or commercial sales roles

  • Experience in laboratory services, pharma, medtech, food, or environmental sectors is highly advantageous

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales and revenue targets

  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills

  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Flexible and willing to travel nationally as required
